DTZ's land team in Kyiv was commissioned by Global Solutions to provide exclusive agency services on the sale of a 32 hectares plot of land, in a region zoned for residential development.
What DTZ did
- After in-depth study of documentation, we prepared a presentation brochure for investors with addendums which included the area’s residential and land market overview
- Identified potential buyers active on the market and presented proposals to them, organized viewings of the property and the area, organized negotiations with the landlord
- Provided consultancy for the landlord in respect of achievable price and terms of the deal in the course of negotiations with potential buyers
- Prepared drafts of official letters to and memorandums of understanding with potential buyers
- DTZ demonstrated responsive client service and teamwork to complete the transaction in the timeframe and on the terms desired by the client
Results
DTZ’s land agency expertise allowed the landlord to exit the land development project at the peak of the local market by selling to a foreign investor, to successfully close one of a few residential deals of its type in the Kyiv region.
It was a challenging task as traditionally foreign investors in Ukraine are focused on commercial property development projects.
DTZ also had to assist with a complicated deal structure, due to an existing lease on the plot to a local gardening community, achieving terms and a deal structure acceptable to both parties.
The deal received extensive media attention including coverage by Bloomberg.
