DTZ is delighted to announce the opening of Ave Plaza Shopping Centre in Kharkov on 23 December 2011. The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries and representatives from the various parties involved in the development and leasing of the centre. Located in Kharkov city centre, this high end boutique mall with a modern architectural style, accommodates a broad range of both internationally and nationally famous retail brands, adding a new dimension to the city’s shopping experience.
The total area of the centre is 23,400 sq m, including a Class A business centre, shopping and entertainment gallery, cafes, restaurants, an attractive interior summer roof garden and an underground car park for around 100 cars.
Ave Plaza was designed over seven levels with the four lower levels accommodating retail and entertainment. High quality office space is provided on levels five and six and separate entrances and access routes are provided for the different functional zones.
DTZ, appointed as exclusive leasing agent representing the Austrian investor UNIQA Real Estate, had pre-leased most of the outlets in the shopping centre, which has a total area of 9,077 sq m. Kharkov shoppers were finally able to visit a central destination of long-awaited stores of leading international and Ukrainian retail brands including Letual, Sekunda, In City, Cifrovoy, Trioptica, Tabak& Presents, Tally Weijl, K.Plastinina, Antonio Biaggi, K-Market, L'etude, New Balance, O’Stin, Accessorize, Walker, and Respect. Interest in the remaining space is high and the final leasing stages of the upper retail floors are now nearing completion. Positive interest has also been shown for the available office space.
The Ave Plaza investor is UNIQA Real Estate, a part of UNIQA Insurance Group, one of the top six insurers in Ukraine.
Nick Cotton, Managing Director of exclusive leasing agent DTZ said: “We are delighted to have been responsible for the leasing of this scheme. The delivery timetable has been exceptionally tight and full credit goes to the development team for achieving a pre New Year opening. At opening, over 60% of the retail space was open for trade and further space will be put into trading operation over the course of the next few weeks. Whilst a relatively small boutique mall, given the exceptional central location of Ave Plaza on Sumskaya Street, close to “Istoricheskiy Muzey” and “Sovetskaya” metro stations and with very high levels of pedestrian traffic we are confident that this will prove to be the most popular retail and entertainment destination in central Kharkiv for many years to come.”
