UK: A 20 acre residential development site in Leeds has been placed on the market by the University of Leeds.
Bodington Hall is located in the desirable north Leeds suburb of Adel and has outline planning for high quality residential development based on an indicative scheme of 157 dwellings.
The University of Leeds has appointed DTZ, a UGL company, to find a purchaser for the site, which will be vacated in December 2012 and available for immediate redevelopment.
The site currently provides 650 catered rooms and 498 self catered rooms and is the largest student accommodation currently owned by the University. The existing buildings are surrounded by mature trees providing a very green semi-rural setting yet readily accessible to the city centre.
In 2007, the University took the decision to dispose of the site and replace it with accommodation closer to the university campus.
Philip Roebuck, Director in DTZ’s Residential team in Leeds, commented: “A development opportunity of this scale in a high value area of north Leeds is rare and therefore an extremely exciting prospect. It is probably the best residential development site to be offered to the market in Yorkshire in recent years.”
