DTZ is once again sponsoring the annual Public Property Summit, being held on 2 November 2011 at the Business Design Centre, Islington, London.
In its second year, the Public Property Summit addresses public and private property professionals on how they can work together and maximise the efficiency of public property assets, including rationalisation and regeneration.
Chris Cobbold, Head of the Residential Practice Group at DTZ will participate in a panel discussion considering Local Enterprise Partnerships and Enterprise Zones.
James Grierson, Head of Public Sector at DTZ will participate in the final debate of the conference which will consider the role of private sector property specialists in making the public sector estate fit for purpose.
James Grierson said: “Public sector property is going to be a major issue for the industry for years to come. Saving money and increasing efficiency by rationalising the public sector operational estate, using public sector land and powers to stimulate regeneration and economic growth, and developing solutions to the shortage of homes, are all huge challenges for the nation. Public sector organisations, those who advise them and those who contract with them to provide property or property-related services, all have to develop better ways of working together. The Public Property Summit is a good opportunity to explore new ideas to address these challenges.”
DTZ is the UK’s leading public sector property advisor. With over 50 years sector experience the firm acts for the majority of central government departments, 1 in 3 local authorities, over 75 NHS Trusts, over 100 Colleges and Universities, the emergency services and many quasi governmental organisations. In all, DTZ is appointed to over 100 public sector service panels.
