DTZ

Ian Thomas is Managing Director of the London and South East business and is Head of the UK Project and Building Consultancy Group. Ian is a member of the DTZ UK Executive Committee.

Ian joined DTZ in 1985 focusing on project management, particularly forward commitment and debt funding arrangements on major projects, from inception to completion, across the UK. Ian has particular experience of the issues associated with stressed and distressed property having been involved with assessing the future viability and strategy for numerous construction projects in the UK and overseas.

Prior to his current roles, Ian moved from London to establish a project and building consultancy team in the Cardiff office, he went on to lead DTZ's Bristol office before moving back to London to head the London project and building consultancy team.

Ian is a former branch representative on RICS Divisional Counsel and former Regional Co-ordinator for Disaster Recovery for the British Council for Offices. He regularly presents and leads discussions on building consultancy issues at industry conferences and seminars.

Ian was educated at Reading University.
