DTZ, for the second time, will be one of the charity partners of “Rat Race” taking place on the 8 May 2010 at Pola Mokotowskie in Warsaw. DTZ will be represented by a few teams taking part in the game.
The entire profit from the event - the sponsors’ donations and participants registration fees - will be handed over to the „Fundusz Pierwszy Krok” (First Step Found), scholarship program for young disabled people and annual scholarship for the promising young runner.
The idea of the event was invented in the US, and the first Rat Race was held in 1987 in Wall Street, New York. Later on the marathon was introduced into Europe and was organised in London and Rotterdam. In Poland the marathon took place for the first time in 2008.
The event is an unforgettable experience to the participants as well as to the spectators, mainly because all of the contestants are obligated to wear business attire while running. Men: jackets, suit trousers, shirts, ties. Women: skirts or trousers, shingles or any other uniforms. Each runner must hold a briefcase or any other job attribute. The only concession towards comfort is that sports shoes are allowed.
